Bib Gourmand: good quality, good value cooking
The tiled-roof row house on Gen’i-dori makes an immediate impression. The owner-chef, wearing a bow tie, rushes about, unable to rest unless he does everything himself. With his wealth of experience, he takes familiar ingredients and raises them to new levels, creating graceful Kyoto cuisine – and it’s good value for money. Appetiser platters are served with rice at lunchtime and in the evening with drinks. The gentle demeanour of the proprietress makes you feel at home.
