Bib Gourmand: good quality, good value cooking
This restaurant began as a place serving obanzai and yakitori, and the sauce that the chicken and green onion skewer is grilled in goes all the way back to then. Kyoto culinary delights line the counter, such as a stew of deep-fried tofu and leafy vegetables, Kujo leek dressed in vinegar miso and boiled nama-yuba. Here you can linger and relax to the gracious hospitality of the tunic-clad proprietress, who keeps her grandmother’s name alive in the name of the restaurant.
