MICHELIN Guide's Point Of View

Bib Gourmand: good quality, good value cooking

Located close to Tenjinbashi-suji, Kansai’s longest shopping street. The shop seems to be in competition for the longest queue to get in. The dish of renown is ‘Toriten to Taichikuwaten to Ontama Bukkake’ (udon topped with chicken tempura, sea bream paste cake tempura and soft-boiled egg). If the pure flavour of dipping sauce and noodles is what you’re after, try the ‘Hiyakake’. The clear sauce and delicious noodles are standouts, so the flavour of the seafood broth and the springiness of the noodles have your undivided attention. Choosing your favourite toppings adds to the fun.
