¥¥ ・ Yoshoku
During the Meiji era (1868 -1912), Western-influenced cuisine spread amid Japan’s rapid modernization, developing in tandem with the native food culture. Yoshoku Izumi’s offerings form a wide assortment, from hamburger steak and cream croquettes to terrine and rillettes. The specialities of the house are omurice (rice-stuffed omelettes) and beef cutlet sandwiches. The latter offers a pleasing contrast between the aroma of the grilled bread and the tenderness of the beef tenderloin. The well-balanced prix fixe menu is recommended.
