DOWNTOWN CUISINE is located in the chef’s local Satake Shopping Street. The chef arrays each table with Japanese vessels that recall memories of the working-class neighbourhood. The inspiration for the restaurant came from a world cooking contest, in which the chef competed with a concept designed to showcase the culture of Japan. Each plate is imbued with the passion to aim ever higher and the desire to thank and give back to the chef’s hometown.
