MICHELIN Guide's Point Of View

‘Sanwa’ means ‘three-part harmony’: harmony between producers, chefs and guests. Descending the stairs, your eye is caught by the three-ring logo, which is both the Watanabe family crest and the restaurant’s symbol. The menu lists producers by name, neatly linking them to guests through the chef. The name would not suggest an Italian restaurant, nor does its offering of char-grilled meats, but these speak to its unique character. The strength of three brings mutual prosperity.
