Sitting beneath an apartment block in the suburb of Rabdan is this likeable spot. The purpose-built white space was always going to be a challenge when it came to giving it personality, but assorted artefacts and articles like spice sacks and a sewing machine go some way towards creating the look of ‘Grandma’s house’. The Emirati cooking is done with care and respect for tradition and the portions are as big as the prices are low. We suggest starting with the katlees, followed by the majbous and save room to finish off with the luqaimat.
