Bib Gourmand: good quality, good value cooking
The first-generation owner-chef opened this restaurant in 1935 next to his rice dealership. For four generations, this local eatery has filled the bellies of its regular customers, many of whom have been dining here for years. The hamburger patties with demi-glace sauce are a perennial favourite. The lunchtime set meals that can be enjoyed casually are a welcome idea. Miso soup and pickled vegetables play supporting roles as beloved comfort food. Good, sound cooking on which the locals were raised.
