Two Stars: Excellent cooking
Masaki Izumi’s goal is to offer enduringly memorable Kyoto cuisine. Through his culinary stylings, he hopes you will feel the four seasons of the ancient capital. Appetiser platters symbolise this quest. Festivals and ceremonies of each season are woven into the food, which is impressively complemented with beautiful arrangements. Namasu and honenmushi preserve the culinary craftsmanship of old, so that the skills of today’s artisans can be passed on to the future. Kimono-clad service staff display the same respect for traditional culture.
