Bib Gourmand: good quality, good value cooking
PODA occupies an old agricultural warehouse that has been completely remodelled and decorated in rustic style with a plethora of wood. Chef João Narigueta and his long-term friend Miguel Dominguinhos have joined together to open this dining space in which the traditional cooking of the Alentejo has undergone a renaissance. One of the classic dishes on the menu is the typical “migas gatas” with cod, which is simply presented but with surprising flavour. Another typical regional dish is “enxovalhada”, a sponge cake filled with walnuts and honey and sprinkled with cinnamon. The wine list mainly features local producers.
