Bib Gourmand: good quality, good value cooking

You may not be aware that fried cuttlefish is one of Setúbal’s most typical dishes. So, it’s not by chance that this restaurant is barely 200 metres from the statue of the “Fried Cuttlefish”, where you’ll also find a mural featuring fish found in the waters around the city. Understandably, cuttlefish features strongly on the menu at Xtoria, where it is prepared in a unique way and with a hint of modernity. Affordably priced dishes that you won’t want to miss include the cuttlefish with ponzu, black potato, sriracha mayonnaise and lumpfish caviar; the Mertolenga beef loin with tuna sabayon and Eringy mushrooms in port wine; and, to round things off, the cardamom cream with a ginger cookie and mango chutney.
