MICHELIN Guide's Point Of View

This local bistro in upper Belleville is the epitome of vintage Parisian with an old zinc-topped counter, moleskin banquettes and a mosaic tiled floor. A sister and brother team, Léa Fleuriot (in the kitchen) and Louis-Marie serve food to an arty crowd of (aspiring) actors and gourmet hipsters. Léa crafts bistro classics with intriguing modern twists, such as finely sliced potatoes, puntarella, radicchio and noisette butter; free-range roast chicken, turnips, carrots, mushrooms and a spring onion sauce; choux filled with chantilly cream and a drizzling of chocolate sauce. Vegetarian versions on request. Concise 100% organic wine list. Buzzy, casual atmosphere with rap music playing softly in the background.
