Bib Gourmand: good quality, good value cooking
This Chinese bar appeals with its casual izakaya-like atmosphere and authentic cuisine. The aim is to be a place where people can come to drink, so they are very particular about the local Nara sake and shochu. The chef being an expert in Sichuan cuisine, the specialities are spicy chicken and mapo tofu. He also incorporates local ingredients and culture, such as using brand name pork from Gojo to make steamed dumplings, and using ‘Kasa-soba’, from the Kasa area of Sakurai.
