MICHELIN Guide's Point Of View

Argile gives expression to the land and its produce in indulgent cuisine. Romain Lamon – already encountered at Polissons – has set up shop in the 9th arrondissement, a stone's throw from Gare Saint-Lazare. In a compact space exuding an unpolished charm (red floor, black or white brick walls, exposed metal) and a glass façade, he creates cuisine that will make you want to lick your plate clean. The bargain lunch set menu takes you back to a bygone era! Examples of dishes include potato pie with flaky pastry and a moist, well-seasoned filling, accompanied by a herb gremolata and rich Parmesan sauce; sea bream with a delicious sauce and fluffy polenta; tasty millefeuille. The service is relaxed, the wines are natural, and the atmosphere is lively.
