This restaurant is a more sophisticated version of its elder sibling, Henriqueta, located in Leblon. In this charming setting near the Jardim Botânico, chef Carlos Gleyson offers a menu full of traditional Portuguese dishes, with a special focus on cuisine from the Azores. As you might expect, there is a wide array of cod options on the menu, including creamy arancini (rice balls with cod), and typical cod recipes including “à Brás”, “à Gomes de Sá”, with cream, and “à Transmontana”. Meat-lovers will also find plenty to keep them happy, thanks to dishes such as the “alcatra de carne”, a typical dish from the Azores that is slow-cooked in a clay pot for six hours. As well as an elegant interior with a beautiful glass-fronted wine cellar, the restaurant also boasts a terrace for alfresco dining.
