This place has a real ace up its sleeve – its superb lakeside location on the peninsula! The large windows of this stylish restaurant afford spectacular views, and the terrace is a real highlight. But the creative cuisine is also worthy of undivided attention. Lukas Nagl draws on an impressive wealth of ideas to add his own special touch to a particularly regional take on fine dining. This involves incorporating fermented flavours and Japanese influences, without using any ingredients from further afield. His affinity to the lakes in the Salzkammergut makes itself felt in his five- to seven-course set menu – take, for instance, the highly aromatic, tender and succulent crayfish sourced from the Traun, or the Arctic char, served beautifully translucent and infused with a delicate smoky flavour. Very attentive and friendly service. The restaurant is located inside Das Traunsee – Das Hotel zum See.

"The lakes of the Salzkammergut play a crucial role in our cuisine, but the meat we use also comes exclusively from the region, as do our vegetables and fruit. Every evening, we present the produce featured in the set menu to our diners in a basket. We promote regenerative agriculture, raise our own organic lambs, and a separate company owned by the chef turns kitchen scraps and offcuts into fermented products such as garums, soy sauces, miso pastes etc."
