Bib Gourmand: good quality, good value cooking
Ever since it opened a few years ago, this restaurant has helped to raise the profile of Legrad, a village in northern Croatia. Situated next to the church, the restaurant overlooks the village square and boasts a spacious terrace that is very popular on summer evenings. The interior decor has the same simple, elegant and modern feel as the cuisine, which features dishes from Croatia and Central Europe. Local ingredients plus delicious clean flavours, a hint of creativity and reasonable prices all add to the appeal. The smoked trout with horseradish mousse, barley popcorn and pumpkin oil is excellent. The 11 guestrooms are particularly popular with cyclists, as Legrad is the start and finish of one of Croatia’s popular cycling routes.
