MICHELIN Guide's Point Of View

Bib Gourmand: good quality, good value cooking

With a delightful waterside terrace for sunny days and a cosy interior with a Scandinavian and vintage feel for when the weather is cooler, this inviting neighbourhood restaurant has plenty going for it. But, of course, the focal point is the kitchen, where chef Daan van Munster creates honest market-fresh cuisine. Whether you prefer to share with your dining companions or go solo, you can compile your own set menu from a tempting list of options, including some rather unconventional dishes. Think creamy veal neck and foie gras terrine, or tender veal tongue with coco de Paimpol beans and a robust veal stock sauce. This chef takes his cue from the seasons, and vegetables are always a key part of his dishes. The moderately priced wine list is the icing on the cake.
