Bib Gourmand: good quality, good value cooking
You’ll receive a warm welcome at this easy-going neighbourhood café-cum-restaurant, which always comes with a contented buzz. Coffee and homemade cakes are served in the morning, followed by a concise selection of dishes including soup and a burger from 12-4pm. The main show takes place in the evening though, when you’re presented with the choice of two tasting menus comprising rustic Norwegian dishes. In a nose-to-tail and stalk-to-tip approach, they attempt to use every part of their ingredients and make the most of fermentation techniques, such as in the rice cream with cherries and fermented plums.
