The cooking is rustic and hearty, drawing on Italian-American and Southern Italian traditions. House-made pasta is a specialty, as in a lasagna al forno made with tender veal and beef meatballs and vibrant marinara, or spinach and ricotta ravioli with a sauce of sage, butter and Grana Padano. Pizzas, like pear and gorgonzola or fennel sausage with roasted peppers, emerge from a 900° wood-fired oven with blistered crusts. Weekly specials highlight fish such as branzino sauteed in a lemon garlic sauce with arugula salad and seared long-stemmed Italian artichokes.
