"Modern tavern cuisine" is the name of the game in this family-run establishment, which has been in business for 12 generations in a quiet suburb of Ellwangen. At the helm is the son, Dennis Wiche, who has worked in several MICHELIN-starred restaurants. The menu comprises an abundance of appealing dishes, from regional classics such as Zwiebelrostbraten (roast beef with onions) and spaetzle to the chef's more modern creations, such as vitello forello. Be sure to try the house-made maultaschen! The chefs work only with the finest seasonal and regional produce – in fact, the restaurant had its own farm until a few years ago. In summer, you can dine on the terrace, which is sheltered from the wind. Overnight accommodation is available on site, in the hotel of the same name.

"We are now the 12th generation of our family to run this hotel. We produce our own electricity, do our own composting and send food waste to a nearby biogas plant. We have a herb garden and orchard, source 90% of our produce from Baden-Württemberg, and regularly choose "our" regional producer of the month."
