MICHELIN Guide's Point Of View

One Star: High quality cooking

The journey to this idyllic little hamlet is well worth it, for Gregor Smolinsky has a special talent: his ability to strip things down to the bare essentials. The focus is squarely on the produce. His style of cooking is classic and clear-cut; nothing distracts from the superior quality of the ingredients. Take, for example, the thick and fleshy freshly caught John Dory, served with a grainy mustard sauce and Catalogna. Only a few components are used, and they are always brimming with intense flavours. Tip: Try the brasato ravioli or soufflé – they have almost cult status! It's no wonder that the cosy restaurant in this charming historical farmhouse is often fully booked. The terrace, shaded by plane trees, affords lovely views of the surrounding countryside. The service is incredibly friendly – almost as if you are part of the family. Practical for motorists: there are plenty of parking spaces.
