Bib Gourmand: good quality, good value cooking
Those under the spell of the "Wizard of Entlebuch" in Bramboden know they will be getting something special. Like Wiesner – Zauber, Werkstatt – Kost is also located in the Weitsicht hotel. The location is simply magnificent; the terrace is idyllic, boasting one of the loveliest views in the whole region. Drawn to the produce yielded by the mountains, Stefan Wiesner pulls off his culinary philosophy of incorporating nature into his dishes – sustainable and definitely not run of the mill! His four-course set menu makes the most of what the local forest, meadows and gardens have to offer. The wonderfully crusty sourdough bread from the Wegelin wood-fired oven, served beforehand with aromatic, almost black charcoal butter, is the perfect start. Equally unique is the original, cosy interior with a workshop atmosphere. The food counter is also a cookery school.
MICHELIN Green Star
"Here in our Werkstatt, too, we pursue our alchemical approach – serving produce we have gathered ourselves, operating in a 100% local, seasonal, "nose-to-tail" and "leaf-to-root" way is an absolute sine qua non; it goes without saying! We also like to serve our dishes on nature's own "crockery"."
