Three Stars: Exceptional cuisine
"HIO" is the nickname of the small village that is home to this restaurant. In the seven-course tasting menu proposed here, vegetables take centre stage. Much of the produce comes from the restaurant's own garden or from local farmers. The chic and modern interior incorporates a smattering of rustic touches, with the open kitchen being a focal point. With just 16 seats, the dining space has an intimate feel. The service is friendly and attentive, without being stuffy or overly formal. In addition to HIO, the HILZHOF also houses the MEIER restaurant and has a number of guestrooms available.
